We are now able to offer Christenings in our churches following social distancing guidance, please contact us for more details.

Christenings, also known as baptisms, are a special service to welcome a child or adult into the Christian faith and the life of the church. If you would like to make an enquiry please contact the Parish Office.  For further information please see the Church of England website here https://churchofenglandchristenings.org/

Marrying in church is personal, meaningful and spiritual, just as you want it to be. Churches are special and unique places to get married in – the prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond. As we are a group of churches, providing you have a connection with a church in the group, you can choose which church to marry in.  Please contact the Parish office for further details.  The Church of England website offers a wealth of information on marrying in church https://www.churchofengland.org/life-events/weddings

Weddings may now take place in church, following social distancing guidance, please contact us for further details or to make an enquiry.

Funerals may now take place in church, following social distancing guidance.

Funerals can be held at the graveside, in churches and crematoria.  A Church of England funeral allows you to give thanks for the unique person you knew and loved in a way that gives comfort and hope.  Please contact the Parish Office for more information.  There is also a Church of England website https://www.churchofengland.org/life-events/funerals/here-everyone

We have a parish administrator, Jen Cooper, who is able to answer queries and offer guidance for all churches in the group regarding weddings, funerals and christenings, monuments, reservations, safeguarding and numerous other activities associated with the group.. The parish office is situated in St Wilfrid’s Church hall and is open Tuesday and Friday from 11:00-1:30 on an appointment only basis, booked by calling Parish Office 01507 464855 or emailing [email protected]

We have a Facebook page where regular updates are posted https://www.facebook.com/AlfordGroupofChurches/
